My wife and I had always liked the Platinum Homes design and contracted with them to build it on our property in Tauranga. The contract was signed and as agreed the developer of our subdivision prepared the building site. Platinum's head supervisor henchman formed the view that the site was not prepared properly. They wanted to charge $10000 to correct it. The developer told us not to pay and eventually the site was accepted. That set the benchmark for the build. It was mean spirited, slow, disorganized and from our perspective frustrating. What should have taken 6 months took 11 months. At the end of the day the house was handed over in a surly manner. Promised repairs have still not been attended to 5 months later. A great house, but I would never build with this crowd again and I would caution anyone else who is thinking about it. There are better builders out there - don't go with Platinum. They're Cowboys in my opinion.
